Tis the Season: Part 3

Hey Folks
We are back with the final of our 3 Part Series of the Ankara Suit and here we thought we would go with something completely different. Jowie separated the Suit and teamed it with a pair of leather shorts and a clutch. We love Clashing Prints so we teamed it with an Ankara Clutch bag from Ghana. The dark lips and ankle heel boots add a Modern and Trendy touch. Matching is great but there are times when you just throw all the rules out the book and just wear what you feel like just to switch it up a bit. We at Birds of Chona believe Fashion should be Fun and worn however One pleases. So seeing as its a Friday we thought we would welcome the weekend in with style and perhaps crash a Christmas Party somewhere tonight.x

Jacket: Birds Of Chona

Shorts: H&M

Boots: New Look

Clutch: Gifted from Ghana

Watch: Casio from Urban Outfitters

Hope you all have a Lovely weekend.x

Tis the Season: Part 2

Hi Guys
Hope you are having a Happy Wednesday. We are Back with Part 2 of the Ankara Suit designed by Jowie. Here the suit is styled with a Crisp White Shirt which we all know is an essential in any woman's wardrobe. This shows you that you can wear Ankara/Chitenge to Work and still look professional. Sometimes its nice to do away with the Stiff and Boring Black and white Suits and wear something which reminds us of the Motherland. Adding the Necklace just adds a bit more glam to the shirt and you could always experiment with different coloured necklaces for a different look.

Skirt: Birds Of Chona

Jacket: Birds Of Chona

Shirt: Zara

Shoes: New Look

Necklace: Boutique in Green Lane

We will be back soon with the Final Part of 3 Part Series of this Birds of Chona Creation. Have a Lovely day.x

Hey Guys
Hope you are all having a lovely and super productive Monday as we continue to countdown to Christmas and New Year Holidays. We are back with another Birds Of Chona Exclusive Outfit Made by Us. This one is a 3 Part Post with the Rest of this Outfit styled differently in upcoming posts. This outfit was inspired by our Grandma Mrs Yolanta Chona who always kept it classy with a lady like jacket and befitting skirt. Back in her day this style of skirt was bang on trend. Its a mix of a Pencil skirt in a Maxi Style. Here its styled with some Hoop/Loop earrings, simple black vest and black shoes. A Dash of gold on the eyelids and a bold red lip bring all the drama in and some colourful bangles and you are good to go on any outing.

Jacket: Birds Of Chona

Skirt: Birds Of Chona

Vest: Peacocks

Shoes: New Look

Earrings: Forever 21

Bangles: Tanzania & Ghana gifts

Hope you come back to the blog to see how we style these pieces in the next coming blog posts. Hope you have a lovely day.x

White Vintage Love

Hey Guys
Happy Monday Here's to our Love Affair with the little white Dress. This one was a Vintage find and actually reminds of the Festive season coming ahead. With the Black friday craziness and Cyber monday shenanigans its always nice to appreciate what you already have especially with vintage gems like this dress. We love the Texture of the Dress and the Fluffy Pocket fluffy bits. A lovely classic dress which wouldn't go amiss at the Family Christmas Dinner but do stay away from the Red Wine.

Dress: Birds Of Chona Vintage

Shoes: Gifted

Earrings:  Topshop

Hope you all have a lovely and productive week.xoxo

Ethiopean Goddess

Hey Guys
Here's a quick post of Paddy wearing a Traditional Ethiopean Outfit made for her by a Friend. She wore it on a short break at a lovely Resort in Dar es Salam last summer. We love embracing other cultures here at Birds of Chona and this is evident in the mix of people who have now entered the 'Chona' Extended Family. As the Resort was a Nature type resort this outfit was perfect for relaxing in as you can see Paddy didn't even need to wear shoes in this place. Its important to take time off to relax and Enjoy life as we all know it can fly by so quickly. Hope you are all having a Relaxing and Peaceful weekend.x
